Capability

Website Management and Hosting

An unmaintained website is a public-facing unpatched server. It is also, frequently, the first thing an attacker finds when looking for a way into an organisation's name.

At a glance

  • Platform, plugin and dependency patching
  • Uptime, certificate and performance monitoring
  • Backups with tested restores
  • Content and small change requests handled

Maintenance and security

Content platforms and their extensions publish security updates constantly, and public exploitation follows disclosure quickly. Maintenance covers core, plugin and dependency updates applied on a schedule with staging verification, plus administrative access control with MFA and least privilege.

Where a site was inherited in poor condition, remediation comes first: removing abandoned plugins, cleaning up unused administrator accounts, correcting file permissions and confirming the site is not already compromised.

  • Scheduled platform and dependency patching
  • Staging verification before production changes
  • Administrative access review and MFA
  • Malware scanning and integrity monitoring
  • TLS certificate lifecycle management

Availability and recovery

Uptime and certificate monitoring with alerting, so an outage or expiry is detected by us rather than reported by a client. Backups run on a defined schedule with off-platform copies and periodic restore testing, because a backup held only inside the hosting account disappears with it.

  • Uptime and response-time monitoring
  • Certificate expiry alerting
  • Off-platform backups with tested restores
  • Documented recovery procedure

Content and improvement

Routine content changes, new pages, form adjustments and small feature additions are handled as part of the arrangement, with larger work quoted separately. Periodic review covers performance, broken links, accessibility regressions and analytics — so the site improves rather than slowly decaying.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you manage a site you did not build?
Yes, after a review of the platform, hosting and current condition. Where remediation is needed before ongoing maintenance is viable, we scope it separately and explain why.
What if the site is hacked?
Containment, clean restoration from a known-good backup, closing the entry point, and reviewing what data may have been exposed. Prevention is considerably cheaper, which is the argument for maintenance.
Is hosting included?
It can be. We also manage sites hosted elsewhere, provided the environment supports staging, backups and reasonable access control.

Keep the site patched and monitored

Maintenance, monitoring and tested backups for a fraction of what a compromise costs to clean up.
